Subject pronouns replace nouns that are the subject of a sentence — the person or thing performing the action.

- I love chocolate.

Key Rules
"You" is singular and plural. The word does not change, so context tells you how many people are being addressed.
- You are a great student. (one person)
- You are all invited. (multiple people)
"It" is for things, animals, and impersonal statements.
- It is a beautiful day.
- It is important to study.
"They" is also used for a single person when gender is unknown or non-binary.
- Someone left their bag. They will come back for it.

Subject Pronouns in Compound Subjects
Use subject pronouns in compound subjects (two or more subjects joined by "and").
- Maria and I went to the movies.
- He and she are classmates.
- You and they should come early.
